Lk 19:1-10
"Zacchaeus, make haste and come down; for today it is necessary for me to stay in your house." How often do we invite the Lord to stay in our inner "house", to take up his dwelling there. And yet, by our very baptism, that is what Christians are, and that is what they are called to be, temples of the Holy Spirit... even more, temples of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit! How should we live this reality? Perhaps the answer is in the following words from Scripture: "So he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully." Our attitude towards others must always be one of joy, even in the midst of persecution and suffering. Lord, may we grow in the virtue of fortitude so that we will be strong enough to defend our faith, even until death!
